I weathered the M3 Lee but I can't resize and post the pictures until I can get to my PC this weekend.

That Sherman is looking good.
The M3 Lee with decals
I went with the tow cable draped over the hull as some pictures show. I left the interior out except the machine guns.

Hello Fellow Builders! My entry for this GB is a 1/72 M3 Stuart from Mirage:
I plan to build a model of a M3 Stuart from Company "B", 192nd Tank Battalion, US Army Forces in the Far East. This was the first US Tank unit that fought the Imperial Japanese Army during the defense of the Philippine Islands in Dec 1941-May 1942. It's main nemesis were the Ha-Go light tanks of IJA. Unfortunately, this unit was lost following the Fall of Bataan in 9-April 1942. The Japanese were able to salvage several M3 Stuart Tanks and used them in the battle for the Corregidor Island, the following month.
Typical of Eastern European kits, there are a LOT of parts for such a small kit!
start date of my Build:
So far, here's where I am at:

Nice work guys! I hope to get back to the M51 soon but I gotta get this Sea Fury done first.

On the basis that
a) you are allowing the Cromwell,
b) I need to teach you Americans what REAL history is, and, most importantly,
c) I just got one for Christmas,
I am going to claim that the Matilda II was in fact named after the Empress Matilda and hence should be allowed in this campaign as a representative from the 12th century English Civil War.

Sorry the Empress Maude is disallowed because that period of history is properly called The Anarchy. Though a civil war, it is not generally known by that name in history. By the same token vehicles named for personages of the Wars of the Roses are also disallowed.
Now content yourself with a Grant or Stuart and move along.
As my family name will attest I am a descendant of actual participants of the Wars of the Roses so I am well aware of English Medieval history. For me it's genealogy. But even the massacre of Towton pales into insignificance compared to Shiloh, let alone Antietam or Gettysburg.

I'm afraid I'm siding with Steve on this one. I thought the Cromwell should be in as someone brought that up during the proposal process but we shouldn't get carried away, the specific focus here is the AMERICAN Civil War. But I'm sure you can take your Matilda and create Anarchy somewhere Richard! Very nice kit, btw, Happy Chistmas to you!

That's correct. Originally the U.S. steam frigate Merrimack it was captured by the Rebs after an attempt to burn it by the retreating Union Army. The hull and machinery were then covered in iron plating and renamed Virginia by the C.S.N. Historically, however, it continues to be generally referred to as Merrimack. Thus endith the lesson.

An update on my Braille Scale M3 Stuart build:
There were a couple of baaaad sinkmarks in my kit and patched or plugged them up with putty and styrene rods then sanded flushed. I wish Mirage would improve on the QA checks of their products to weed out bad plastic molding.
The track links are too long and I had to cut two links from each track lengths to get them to wrap nicely on the running gears. The kit's tracks can be attached using CA Glue.
I will be attaching the tail lights and need to look for some metal foils to scratch-build the headlight lamp guards. The parts supplied with the kit are not good replicas of the actual lamp guard.

Clayton,
That's Tamiya's OD Green. I can't think of the number off hand. Then I added some buff to the cup for the modulation.

Wow, tough crowd :-) I''ll see if I can find a Sherman from somewhere. Anyone got recommendations for a D-Day ready one in 1:35?

Plenty of Stuarts there too in the British armored units. Mark III, V and VI. (M3A1, M3A3 and M5A1)
Otherwise we might as well call this a Sherman group build. We have two Stuarts, a Lee and five Shermans...
I might withdraw my Lee and build a Sherman as not to feel left out.

Given the number of actual Shermans built versus the other vehicles, the proportion is probably about right. Stick with it Steve, variety is the spice of life!

And Sherman continues his march. All are looking very nice.
And the M3 Medium tank General Lee is done. It's in that wonderful coat of heavy Tunisian dust. There are lots of wonderful full color shots of Lees in the US and overseas and the thing about them that struck me was just how dusty they got.
The tow cable is draped over the front as many photos show. The road wheels have been mostly replaced with solid types, with a couple of the open ones remaining. I severely chunked them so they would look due for replacement.
