Well I'm still trying to finish this old ITA kit and it keeps trying to drive me nuts.
So! To Oliver and Frenchy, please put on your thinking caps.
My build is going into a small vignette set in Colonial Algeria. I have PSP sand channels ready to install on it but I can't find any detail photos or drawings of the hinged/turnbuckle bracket hanger that keeps them on the vehicle. Any help? Did they have 'field expedient solutions like chain and shackle? (I've learned a ton about camels Foreign Legion, Heller figures, etc. since we last talked.
Just don't call me 'speedy'. I KNOW!
Many thanks!

Rick,
the best photo I know is on this page http://www.chars-francais.net/2015/index.php/liste-chronologique/de-1945-a-1990?task=view&id=710
Scroll down to the middle of the page and you will see one picture showing the PSP and the retaiing system.

Thank you guys! That is a better quality print of the one I have but still does not have all the answers I need for that hardware. I know Panhard is still in business. Is it worth a shot to contact them for help? Do any other armor builders respond in appositive manner to modeler requests(General Dynamics, etc.)?
Your thoughts are always valuable,

I'm afraid you'll have a hard time finding more info about these brackets. I guess they were specially made/scratchbuilt for the 1958 desert raid, as they don't appear in other period pics of the EBR (including those from the Algeria War)...

Thank you Frenchy. The more I looked at it, the more I thought the 'factory' would have come up with something better. I may go with a more common sense work around from a later date.
Cheers!

In general, dealing with military vahicle maker is pretty tricky. I have been to some minor military sales shows, trying to make contact with companies like KMW or Rheinmetall. When they hears it´s for modellingm they just turn away, That not the kind of customers they need. I made some positive experiences with MOWAG from Switzerland, I even know one of marketing managers. I remember back in the 1990, after ODS US companies like Oshkosh, GDLS, BMY and FMC gave me some valuable assistance with modelling. But the chances to get anything nowadays is close to zero.
