I have been a lucky model lurker when it comes to kits. I have ordered after market items in the past but no kits. Well the last time they ran the 2 buck ground promo I decided to jump in. My worry in the past was due to lack of knowledge about ship time, ship quality and overall condition of kits on arrival. I am going to relay my experience here so others can decide for themselves with more info.
Order placement:
I placed my order on 5/31/2016 at approximately 1:30pm eastern standard US time. When u order thru lucky you will place the order through the site. They will then send you a Paypal invoice. I promptly paid my invoice within the hour of ordering. I then waited for an email from lucky model. Upon not hearing anything by the next day I went to the site and saw that my order was in processing status. I then waited a day later and saw that it had changed to shipped status. There was an invoice available in my account page that contained the tracking info. I waited two days and the shipping info updates to indicate it had shipped to a post office in Hongkong. Then a day later it indicated that my package would be leaving Hong Kong. A few days later the tracking info indicated that my package would leave via ship on 6/11/2016. That was the only info that the package had till today. When I tracked the package on 7/25/2016 it indicated that the package had arrived in the U.S. I then proceeded to place the HK post track number into the USPS track system and it indicated the package was in my town out for delivery. A quick text to the wife indicated that the package had indeed arrived. So the tracking info is a little sparse from HK post but at least u can track it.
Package quality:
So package arrived in descent shape I would give it a 8 out of 10 for outward condition. There were some dented corners and what appeared to be a small hole in box.
Interior Packing:
Upon opening the box we are greeted with a generous amount of bubble wrap. Almost all models wrapped in bubble wrap except for four tiny boxes and one large one. But these items were protected by the other items in the box. The previous mentioned hole only passed thru outer layer as the box was double thick.
Final Product Condition:
So we unwrap our little gifts from there bubble wrapping paper and we are rewarded with everything in superb condition. The one thing I noticed is that models are not cellophane wrapped from Asia for some reason compared to US shops. There was no damage to anything unordered.
Ignore the condition of my blinds and curtains I have a 3 yr old and a 1 yr old.
Overall Satisfaction:
I am very happy with my experience from lucky model I got great prices and 2 buck shipping. So in the end I paid as much as 50% less then US prices on some of my kits. All I had to do was wait for them to arrive on the slow boat from China.

Adam, great to see your post. I had seen LM offer of $2 shipping but I was bit Leary of placing order just because it takes 2 months. However, reading about your personal experience and seeing how well they packed everything...I guess I am going to place an order and take advantage of their next 2 dollar shipping. Thanks for sharing your experience and taking the pics.

Yup that's a heck of a deal! Just a reminder to be sure model is 'In Stock' when you order. Otherwise 2 months might become more!

Ordered a Hasegawa 1/350 scale Akagi a year ago when it was on a sale for $159.99 when they had a $2.00 shipping campaign. What a great deal! Perfect storm, so to speak. Been ordering from them since 2009. No beefs with them. Always take advantage of the $2.oo shipping promotion to order large items. Don't mind the wait - got enough other stuff to make anyway. 1 and 1/2 to 2 and 1/2 months - it always shows up.

Yes the PT box took up alot of space in the stash. But been after one for years and could not beat price out of hong kong.
