Essentially the same as previous releases except for the fancy-schmancy Pak 80 L/66 barrel.
Big deal. It was proposed but never fielded.

Unlike, of course, the Bergepanther, of which over 300 were fielded, yet we STILL don't have a decent kit!

What's wrong with the Italeri kit?
Posted: Friday, August 05, 2016 - 05:44 AM UTC
Aside from the longer gun, it was planned to have an extended rear superstructure to accommodate recoil. i don't see it in Dragon's box art; no mention in the kit description as well.

Gunned Panzers = Sales
I want a detailed Crusader Mk I with complete (engine compartment at least!) interior. But I don't think I'll ever get it.
Best wishes,
Gaz

A Wasted opportunity. The gun was too long to transport so was pulled back through the rear doors. The side armour was to be extended as already mentioned, to protect it. The project would presumably be built on the late chassis. This is a missed opportunity to release a reworked 9036 kit. Not worth the money in my opinion. As stated above.....Yawn.

Just about everything. Having said that, it does have some useful bits, but most of it is quite inaccurate.

Hi, Rob!
I could name a DOZEN vehicles that we STILL don't have, and they would be vehicles that were produced in the tens-of-thousands, not just 300 of them...
However, I DO understand your frustration in not getting a good state-of-the-art Bergepanther, yet recently, TWO manufacturers, DRAGON and RYE FIELD, have deigned it EXPEDIENT to spend a great deal of money in producing a "Bergetiger" kit, of which only ONE (that I know of, anyway), was ever converted from a "standard" Tiger I in real life. Oh, the INJUSTICE of it all...
Many WWII German fans have been asking for a brand new "state-of-the-art PLASTIC Bergepanther FOR YEARS, to no avail. I am NOT one of them, but I empathize with those that want one...
Gary- I too, feel the need for a NEW Crusader Mk.I, although a complete Interior and Engine Compartment are not prerequisites, as far as I personally, am concerned. There again, that doesn't mean that I wouldn't buy an all-new Crusader Mk.I with a full Interior and Engine Compartment included in the kit, if one were to be made available. I'm a big WWII US/Allied fan, so an all-new Crusader Mk.I would definitely find it's way onto my "To Buy" list...
ITALERI has made/makes the Crusader Mk.I off and on, but after all, it IS an ancient kit, and I'm sure that another manufacturer could do better, given the new technology that is available today
I'm a BIG Sherman fan, but it STILL sticks in my craw, (on principle, at least), why NO PLASTIC model manufacturer has EVER released a SINGLE Sherman kit which includes a complete Interior and Engine Compartment! Certainly, the Sherman fans deserve AT LEAST ONE of these, but no, Sherman fans are left to themselves by having to buy TONS of AFTERMARKET Updates, Backdates, Conversion kits, AND "CORRECTION" kits. What gives?
"Oh, it's just another Sherman kit..."
I can very easily say the same thing about Tigers...
DITTO, on all "YAWNS" for the new "Bergetiger" that have been submitted by contributing modellers in this thread...
