I'm working on the Dragon Saladin but I'm having some trouble finding some necessary info. Does anyone have any info on the colors and schemes used on the Saladins while serving in Aden in the early and mid 1960s? Any help would be appreciated.

Steven,

It appears that most vehicles in Aden were camouflaged Sand over the Bronze Green base (Bronze Green being a gloss colour applied to all Army vehicles at that time).

You might find this link useful as it covers the build and the finishing of an Aden vehicle:

http://petesmodelworld.blogspot.co.uk/2015/02/dragon-saladin-mk2-build.html

He is a mate so I must declare an interest but he has done the Dragon model proud in my opinion.

I do hope this helps.

Thanks, I've been reading the blog on Pete's Saladin build. He's done a very nice job. I appreciate the info on the paint. I had seen some images of Saladins in a Sand and Dark Brown scheme but found no info on where, when or who was operating them. I had also seen at one point some reference to some sand and sand pink schemes, specifically on vehicles supporting SAS operations, unfortunately no unit ID was given nor photos.
