I wish to make a model of the Dutch Leopard 2 that is featured on page 87 of Concord's "Peace by Force, Elite Forces of the IFOR". I will post a picture if I remember how to. I want to use the Meng Leopard 2A4 kit #TS-016.
Anyway, two questions.
What do I need to change in the kit to make the subject that I want. I know the mg needs changing, but to what?
Second, Does anyone know of a colour match for the green on this tank?
TIA

The most obvious changes are you'll need to replace the grenade launchers with the Dtch versions- 3 sets of double tubes on each side, a more sunken arerial mount -to aid protection, and replace the MG3 with an FN The Dutch also used a 25mm ammo box on the turret roof behind the loaders hatch, for additional stowage. You could pick theose up from the Revell 2A4NL (03193)
Michael Shackelton should be able to give you info on anything else that I've missed.
A good starting point for the colour would be Vallejo Model Air Russian Green

Legend makes a coversion for the Dutch Leopard 2A5. This can also be used for a 2A4. It features all the necessary changes. Use the early sideskirts in the Meng (option A).
Echelon made a Dutch armor decal sheet, it might stil be available. Enjoy your build.

Thanks, I see it now, LF 1121.
For the sideskirts, I assume that you mean Option A in step 17 in Meng's instructions?

Hi
Here is basically what you get in the Legend conversion.
See the cream parts and the PE ones.

Marc/Paul/Olivier,
Thanks for all your help. Looks like Legend set is the way to go. I have just ordered one.

One thing often overseen: The Dutch Leopard are 2A4 up to batch 4(?). This means, they have the earlier layout of the non slip pattern, whereas the Meng kit features the later pattern. So you would have to recreate the earlier non slip pattern.
BTW, Meng forgot the non slip patches on top of the early style heavy sideskirts. They are not very visible, but are there.
