Hi all,
I just posted to my site 150+ pictures of this vehicle as in current service with the French army.
That could be helpful for those interested in building the Tiger Model kit.
Enjoy the visit.

Hello
Just notice that this is a late AMX10RC (close to the ones used in Ex Yougoslavia by KFOR/IFOR/SFOR).
The Tiger kit is an AMX10RCR , so with some upgrades like new rear turret basket, new tyres...
These photos will be usefull for those who want to backdate the kit to a 10RC from gulf war 1 to ten years ago.

Oups! Thanks for correcting the denomination Stéphane. I should have noticed the differences.

You're welcome Christopher,
At the time the pictures were taken (early 2000s), antislip coating was not standard in the French army.

Thank you Olivier for posting the photos. It is hard to believe that they are over 10 years old. Where were they taken? Almost, I am curious about the AMX10RC's ammunition. Is it still using that ball-bearing mounted HEAT round?

Gary,
the pictures were taken in or near Valence, home of the 1st regiment of Spahis.
concerning the HEAT round here is what you can find on the Nexter site about it:
DESCRIPTION
A Hight Explosive, Anti-Tank round, with a nose
cone, a body, a tail fin, assembly and a tracer.
The body is filled with high explosive and is
fitted with a copper liner and a Base Detonating fuze. The fuze has a nose switch. The projectile
is mounted on a brass cartridge case which is filled with single base propellant and fitted with a
primer.

Interesting. It's been standard on IDF heavy metal for decades. That thing (probably) saved my life on more than one occasion...

To keep it simple, the main differences are the new type of smoke grenades dischargers located on the front of the turret, the extended bustle rack of the RCR and the deletion of all the swimming propulsion system.

I took the photo the July 14 2005 , in my town just at 15km from Paris Center ;o)
As said previouly, the tyres are différents from the 10RCR, it's an important feature, impossible to use the ones in the Tiger kits.
But Def models have a VAB early wheels set from memory , so it could be interresting to remove the VAB rims and add the Tiger ones.
Why not an AMX10RC from Tiger, these times we could Dreams.
