Sand & Modern vehicle -> Iraq or maybe Afghanistan
Sand & Vintage vehicle -> North Africa / Desert
Dust and hedgerows: Normandie
Rocky hills: Italy
Mud and/or snow: Soviet union
Jungle & Modern vehicle -> Vietnam
Jungle & Vintage vehicle -> Pacific
Ruins: Germany
However, there is a sneaky one lurking in the sands: If there are ships in the background for a vintage vehicle -> D-Day
The above should be taken as a general rule of thumb.
Any of the backgrounds could be used for other theatres of war so it is advisable to check the text and/or other clues provided on the box

I guess Robin may be talking about "geographic clichés" used by some box-art illustrators....

The box art of the Riich universal carrier 'in North Africa' ( though good observation will indicate a beach or dunes) may have caused this remarkable list, I guess.
But to be honest, the list is, with all respect to Robin, of no help at all........

No sand -> can't be the desert ...
Seems like a hard road -> can't be Russia (no mud or snow)
No hedgerows -> can't be France
No ruins -> can't be Jerrys homeland either
No jungle either and I'm fairly certain that Mr Hitler didn't send any Tigers to assist Japan .....
hmmmm
There are some hills in the background -> maybe Italy but the hills are a bit to soft (not rocky enough)
DANG !
Had to read the text to figure this one out

This one is easy. That's the intersection of Ramella Ave. and Moonachie Rd. in Moonachie, New Jersey. The Tiger is parked in front of the lot diagonally opposite from Alray Liquors, which is located on the corner of Broad St. and Moonachie Ave.

Actually, Hitler did give a Tiger l to the Japanese, but it never got there. The Japanese returned the gift as the Germans needed it more. The tank never left Germany and I have no idea how they intended delivering one. Maybe in parts by U-Boat. After a year of deliveries, and a technician, or two, they might have enough parts to assemble a tank. Mr. Byrden can probably give the exact Fahrgestell number of the Tiger.

Careful, Mr. Volstad likes to throw curve balls.
