Hi all!
i bought one pretty old kit from Tamiya, it was made in 1975.
The model is very simple, but with some scratchbuilding I see potential
Istarted with turret:
Tracks from box is awfull, so i bought Takom Chieftain tracks:
Next I started with hull:
Armor/AFV

You're doing a great job on this old bird! Very impressive work!
For those who may be contemplating the Tamiya kit, here is a list of helpful tweaks compiled by Robert Lockie a few years ago. http://www.onepointed.com/dan/model/ChieftainTweaks/

Hi Reinhards,
Wow, you're doing a great job on the venerable old warhorse! This kit has nostalgic appeal for me, since I built it as a kid back in the late 70s, and it's great seeing you bring it up to contemporary standards so well.
I'm actually building Takom's Chieftain Mk.2 at the moment and I was admiring your casting marks on the hull and turret. What internet or printed sources did you use to find examples for those? Thanks!

GeraldOwens, canismalus, mpeplinski,
Thank you very much!
canismalus. well, this is one of my first models too, im 16years old now, and this is my fourth model kit. Previously, I was making paper models. For casting marks I was inspired from this page http://data3.primeportal.net/the_battlefield_armor.htm
mpeplinski. Yes, Takom tracks fit very good to Tamiya sprocket. The tracks are made right for Tamiya kit

This is actually very pleasing to see! I did a similar "revival" with the 1970s Tamiya Churchill kit. Your modeling skills are excellent! Subscribed!
