For those who were waiting, Takom has come out with this very tank, number 2062.
Anyone know who used this model and when?

At least the Dutch army had a number of them.

This particular kit has also markings for two vehicles used by the Argentine Army one olive drab and one more recent with two tone cammo.

AFAIK, most of the Dutch AMX-13/105 have been sold to Indonesia :

It's been used also by other Latin American Armies (Chile, Venezuela, Peru, Ecuador)
Argentina purchased a first batch on 1969 and has almost completely phased them out already. By the late seventies they upgraded them with the addition of a diesel engine.

Thanks! I was thinking of using the Dutch one for 1962 if they had that in service then.
And why that one? It has a metal barrel, and I am hopeless with two-part plastic barrels. Which is why I won't build the AMX-13/90.

According to Wikipedia, the Dutch Army bought them in 1961...

You can even use Google translator if necessary to translate this article about AMX-13's in Dutch service :

But I'm not sure they were already deployed in 1962 (judging by the charts included in this article)

Except you don't have to deal with the kit barrel on Takom's 13/90 at all. Mr Modellbau already does a single part metal barrel for the gun.

I like the Peruvian MX 13/105, with the sagger missiles.
I always wanted to do a conversion but converting the Heller kit seemed like too much work, maybe I'll reconsider and get this kit.

Thanks for the heads up! I guess any of the Takom kits would be apocryphal.

I spoke too soon. Takom DOES make the version with the 75mm gun. Wonder if it has, or I can get, a metal barrel?

Nice color profilte but wrong idler. The late 2D chassis with 4 return rollers had the late molded idler wheel with "ribs" and not the early one with 6 holes (which was wider by the way).

Hi Olivier
Thanks for the info. I must admit I can't vouch for the accuracy of the drawings that can be found on this website (www.tanks-encyclopedia.com...)

The Chilean Army only operated a handful of the AMX MK F3 SPG version, though.

The AMX light tanks were used by guard and scout tank battalions, guard and scout tank eskadrons and infantry anti tank units. The infantry used them until 1974, the scout eskadrons until 1984.
