Hi all,
A new campaign has been approved in honor of the 75th Anniversary of the Pearl Harbor attack.
It will run from 7 Dec 16 to 7 Dec 17
The rules are:
Operational Overview
This campaign is dedicated towards those that participated on both sides during the attack on Pearl Harbor.
The Rules and Regs
Models depicting any person, vehicle, aircraft, ship or location are welcome to join.
OOB, superdetailed, scratchbuilt, dioramas all welcomed
Materials allowed, any, etched brass / resin / white metal. wood deck upgrades etc included.
Feel free to use whatever reference you require.
Started models are not allowed due to the campaign lasting a year.
At least one start up and completed photo to posted on the campaign thread, as few, or as many other photos as the builder wishes. At least 2 photos in the campaign gallery at location to be posted
Separate Blogs of the build at the builders discretion.
Have fun, enjoy the campaign and share
Contest Element
Campaign Ribbon will be awarded for completed models,builders may enter as many builds as they wish but 1 ribbon per builder
The Official Campaign log will be hosted in the Modelshipwrights page

Yes, I have more than a few PH era aircraft kits on hand to dig out for something like this. A P-36 would be wonderful . . .

True story,a friend of mine in the local modeling club is a Pearl Harbor survivor.His dad was in the Navy and he was just a couple of months old at the time,but did have a few rounds go though they're house.

Here is what I'll be building for this campaign. Should be getting started in the next week, or so. Finishing up my Animals Campaign build.
Will also be use several PE sets from Eduard. The Interior, Exterior, Engine, and masks.

Was able to get started on this build last night. I decided to start with the engine. Pics are of the front bank of cylinders with 17 PE pieces from the Eduards set. Once the engine is completed, there will be over 100 PE pieces installed.

Slow progress due to the amount of PE. The rear bank of cylinders is now complete. It looks the same as the front, so no pic needed. Completed the forward and aft cowl rings.

Back from my latest trip and spending time on the build. The forward bank of cylinders is now complete. The Eduard set adds 23 pieces of pe to just this part.

The engine is 90% complete. Just the cowl flaps left to add. There are 75 pe parts added for the engine assembly, so far.
