Finally started my M983 hemtt, going together pretty well but i have found that the kit supplied engine even though not much will be visible is saddly alcking detail so i began to scratch build things such as filters starter, water lines , water pump, also the transmission housing for the starter i still need to add lots of wiring and hoses and also need to scrath build the the air compressor on the rear of the engine which can be seen.no idea how i will do this but its a must.then i will run all the brake lines and electrical wires that run on the trucks frame. here are a few pictures please remember this is a long ways from finished and lots more details will be added.

You can always hinge the engine cover, or have it removable.

Looking good. I went with the Real Model engine set for mine. I will also have the cover open and the left side panel removed so you can see a good portion of the engine.
You can check out my build here. I'm a bit stalled on it; with cold weather and the holidays. I should get back at it in Jan.
