Hi all,
here are some pictures of my Boxer which I started last summer.
Thanks to HH Bühling, I could add one part omitted by Revell, the IED jammer antenna base.
I replaced the FLW 200 RWS by the Live Resin one. I will use Djiti resin wheels. The cable is a Eureka XXL reference.
It is ready for the painting booth.

Nice!
I can't stress enough how much I hate Revell's plastic, but I have to admit that their Boxer's are the only way to go, since the HB kit is a so-so depiction of a prototype.
Your review about the Live Resin FLW200 RWS at http://olivier.carneau.free.fr/revues/details/liveresin_flw200/index_gb.htm is also very helpful.

Hi Olivier,
good start. I might add that you can "beef-up" the commanders windshield. I put a 0.5 mm sheet underneat it to get the proper thickness. Can you show the rear of the model? You might add some tiny details before you spray it.
Cheers
P.S. Don`t forget to add Leopard Club Comrod aerials. BTW the lenght of the antenna rod is 3,3 m.

Thanks for the help Hans-Hermann.
Concerning the commander windshield, I fear it's too late for mine.
Concerning the rear of the Boxer, I didn't add anything. What do you think I should add before shifting to the painting?
I have some resin antenna bases from Djiti. They are supposed to be US ones but they will better than the kits ones. Anyway, I'll have a look at Leopard Club refs. Again thank you for the information about the length of the aerial.

Send you some reference pics by email.
I can also recoomend using SKP Model lens and tail lights.

But take note that you have to sand down the kits light completely or the PE part will interfere with the headlight cover.

Hi Olivier !
What happened ?
Getting into challenging the "worst" kits around phase of your life ?
The AMX-13 got you addicted so it seems ... well you are off to a good start with your choice of WS.
Hope this is another "Déjà-vu" like with your AMX-13 .... soon as you are finished all new kits "pop-up" ... selfish I know, but you still have my full support on this one !
Coming back from a years project abroad I went to Munster early November to catch the Tiger I before it left .... I saw quite a few BOXER mostly in the desert-camo up there, which I would certainly be doing once a better kit of the BOXER emerges.
I'll be following your progress with great interest !
Cheers
Christopher

Thanks for coming along Christopher and Walter.
With some friendly pressure by Hans-Hermann I'll add some more details to the tow bar box on top of the rear door and the troop compartment hatches hinges.
I don't think I'll go further. To be honest, the best option was Blast update set which is currently out of stock, if not discontinued.
Christopher, I won't hold my breath till a new Boxer is released but the big manufacturers can still surprise us. Considering the interest of Meng for Bundeswehr vehicles, I'd bet this could be a nice addition to their range.
However, I'm a bit surprised that PSM is not interested by the Boxer. Their upgrade sets for the Marder are very nice.
I'll try to post more pics of the progress today.

Last batch of pictures without paint. I added the latches and hinges details on the tow bar box. I added some details on the hatches hinges. I also added the two rear cameras lenses.

This is probably the last update in 2016. The Boxer has been painted with the Vallejo set dedicated to German vehicles. The antennas will be added of course.

Swedish sense of humor I guess
I had the Eureka in the stash for a while. In fact I had it before the kit itself.

Hi;
"Very Nice Olivier" Altho I am not A Fan of Revell, I do like this kit. I have some of there kits in my collection, Pzh 2000, P.K.90, Rakaete. Your Camoflauge came out really nice.
CHEERS; MIKE.

Now with the antennas on the roof, I call it complete.
The full story is available in my site.
This is my last build in 2016.
I wish you all a Happy New Year and the very best for 2017!

Very well done Olivier! But I hope that we will see an out-of-the-box buildable (e.g. Tamiya) GTK Boxer soon.
Happy New Year!

Great job you did their Olivier !
The WS and a proper paint job really lifts the overall quality of the Revell kit.
... personally I would choose this camo with Green patches if I ever do a Boxer (keeping fingers crossed), making it look a little more "colourful" ..... this does not reflect any hint of criticism regarding your camo choice
Cheers

Thanks for the comments Christopher. To be honest I thought the Revell camo scheme was the same as on the picture. But considering I still have a Marder A5 and a PzH 2000 to build as ISAF vehicles, this one will add a different touch. My Dingo has already the camo with green patches.
What is interesting in this camo is it was applied to the very first Boxers to be deployed in Afghanistan.
Hans-Hermann, I hope you will see a better plastic Boxer some day but it looks like German armor is not attractive enough for the big ones with the exception the Leopard 1 and 2 families.

To add some "color" to the model, you can add the markings from Echelon Fine Details (sadly OOP).
