Hey y'all.

I searched and couldn't find any reference to my question, so I'm not sure if it's dumb yet or not.

I have the MENG 6X6 Cougar coming next week, and was wondering why in any pics I can find, there's no rucks, bedrolls, packs....etc strapped to the exterior.

When I built an M113,an M109, a HMMVW..... all my ref pics had crap hanging all over the exterior of everything.....but I have yet to find a pic of a Cougar in a similar condition.

Is this because they tend to be used in a "QRF" type role, and don't need to bring a lot of 3rd line gear, or is it because things are wrapped up nicely in the side stowage bins?

The interior looks (to me) as cramped as any vehicle considering passengers and gear.

Thanks for any input.

Cheers,
HS

Your supposition is correct about the lack of gear on the vehicles. By the time the MRAPs became common we were on FOBs, patrol packs were what you brought with you since you weren't going out long term.
