Great little video.
It is interesting to see the M60s mounting the Crouse-Hinds searchlights.

Hi Hans-Hermann, thanks for the link, it brought back memories from some of the units I used to see on the Autobahns. I also was able to find a few , links to Augsburg, my place of birth. Thanks. Ronnie

Wow! Thanks for that stroll down memory lane.
I was a dependent in USAREUR from 1950 (Born in Munich) through 1953, again from 1962-1965 (saw some 4th Armored Division patches!) and as a Lieutenant from 1972-1977 with 8th ID. Great seeing the shots of the Airborne School in Wiesbaden. The entire 1st Brigade of the 8th ID was Airborne when I arrived in country in late '72 (I was in an SP FA Bn supporting 2nd Bde) and was re-designated "leg" in early '73.
Not admitting to being old, but DAMN! Those scenes were shot (wait for it......................)
over FIFTY YEARS AGO!
Thanks for the GREAT memories!!!

Can't be real. All those vehicles were way too dirty.
My next door neighbor was there around that time. He was an instructor at Hohenfehls especially during the M48 to M60 transition. I based my M48A2 build on footage like this, even marked it for fourth armored.
By the way, if you blink you will miss it, but there was a brand new M60A1 in one cut away scene. You could see the flat turret side and angled nose. Very brief but it was there.
And you know that upcoming Afv-club M113 with all those included M14 rifles would be perfect to do one of the ones in the footage there.

And maybe we can finally get a larger variety of "cold war" GI soldiers, with the M1 Steel Pot and fatigues and field jackets!
