Trumpeter: Beast KillerPosted: Saturday, January 07, 2017 - 10:24 AM UTC
Such nickname was given to the Soviet ISU-152 tank as it was capable of blowing wide open, German Tiger and Panther turrets, and even Ferdinand casemates. Trumpeter has released a post-war variant, the K model, and we took a look at what it has to offer.

I don't find this that important, the only ones I recall I've seen pictured with mantlet cover were in a couple of pics from Budapest 1956.
Do you have more references?
Anyway, it will not be that hard to scratch with epoxy putty. And knowing the soft mantlet covers of other Trumpeter kits, like the T-72/90 and T-64 families, I guess I'll prefer so.

I wish i could be excited about this, but let me warn yall its not worth it, get the tamiya.
I built the JS-2 from trumpeter, it has some nice detail but its lacking in build-ability. a good example is the running gear: you have to glue the drive sprockets down, there is very little to grab ahold of ( sits very loose) whereas the tamiya has a nice polycap and can be kept off until track fitting. Plus the retail cost of the trumpeter kit is higher than the tamiya one WITH the aber update set included.
You would be better off waiting for this one to come down in price and using its parts to modify the tamiya kit if this is the version you really want.

The Tamiya is not the same variant at all. I have the Tamiya kit and will get Trumpeter's. As for the mantlet cover, if you want one Panzerart makes a gorgeous piece in resin which is really inexpensive.

If you must have the cover over the manlet, Panzerart makes one in resin.
