This is the original Campaign Ribbon approved by the UK commitee. Any comments please, do I need any further approval or does this become the official award ? ( 1st campaign as leader so seeking a little advice here!)
The three coloured patches simply represent the elements Sea/Air/Land and therefore do not carry any more significance for one nationality over another.

Nice Dave.

You do also realise those are also the colours for the Signal Corps ("Certa Cito" meaning "Swift and Sure"). Now I will have to take part in 'Overlord 2004'.

Any thought of maybe adding a device/banner to the ribbon (6/6/04) or some such date?
Looks great to me.

I thought of adding a vertical sword or similar, then I remembered the old addage - KISS. Keep it simple, stupid. So I did.

Hi Savage,
The sword that I was thinking of was a small vertical sword on the centre piece, like a 'bar' award on a ribbon. Then I thought that the sword represents army to most people. In this campaign we are remembering all of the forces that took part - Navy, Army, Airforce, Airborne, perhaps even SOE ( Special Forces), so I reckon that the ribbon itself is enough. Of course if I get outvoted then it can be changed, but the original design is the one approved by the leadership team.

The closing date of 5th June was chosen so that all completed entries could be viewed from D-Day onwards, rather than finished and submitted on the day.

SO TO REPRESENT THE 3 elements you could add a pair of wings and as an x on them a sword and an anchor

We've asked for clarification on the use of medals or ribbons only as campaign awards. If we're allowed to give a medal then you can see the final design here:
https://armorama.kitmaker.net/forums/27267&page=1

The original sea/air/land ribbon colours combined with one of Flitzer's fantastic medal designs. I envisage only one grade of medal being awarded for this campaign as there will be no judging of entries beyond ' do they meet the rules '

Although I have received no 'official' guidance as to the award of a ribbon or medal I have just re-read the guidlines on the Campaign Headquarters section of the site and it stipulates the award of a ribbon for campaigns. If this is so the we are back to the ribbon and all Flitzer's hard work is for naught, unless he can elaborate on my original design, perhaps using some of the ideas for emblems put forward by other posters?

QUOTE:
To further encourage this each user who completes a campaign will recieve a campaign ribbon. Each ribbon is unique and will display on your profile page and up to five will appear with your other rank/user info in the forums.

Hi...
developed ribbons and borders with motifs representing the theme of the ribbon..i.e. Sea, Air and Land.

Hope this is what you are looking for.
As usual comments welcomed.

Cheers and thanks

As usual, magic. I was really hoping to have just one ribbon which could be awarded to all, perhaps with the emblems combined, or on top of their appropriate colour. Not just to make StaffJim's job easier when he attaches them to the entrants profile, but so that every entrant is openly seen to be equally awarded.

Fantastic - that's the one - executive decision made - that is now the 'official' ribbon for the Overlord2004 campaign.
