I just purchased the Trumpeter kv5 and unlike the takom offering, it does not come with a metal barrel (but hopefully will build better!)
I have done a fair amount of searching and have been unable to find a manufacturer of a suitable barrel replacement.
I have searched using variations of Kv5 and 107mm zis6.
Does anyone know if there are any metal barrels for the kv5, other than the one that came with the takom? Buying the takom kit is not an option. I've read that it has many fit issues, and I don't want to buy it just for the barrel, especially considering the cheapest I've seen the takom is $55 and I payed $33 for the trumpeter.

I built the takom kit and had zero fit/assembly problems. Went together like the Trumpeter KV kits.

That's odd. I had seen a few build logs that reported extensive problems. It convinced me to stay away from the takom version.

But I've looked into it some more and also found people who said fit was pretty good (except the wheels - apparently the idlers and road wheels don't align correctly).
So there doesn't seem to be a consensus on the fit.
