interesting build, what is it that you're using for the anti-skid? Might want to sand it down a bit as it looks a little overstated at the moment. However, good start so far. Does it have a name yet?

The roughness of the coating looks fine to me Dave. Check out the non-slip coating thread I started in the armor forum. My only comment is that the non-slip coating applied to late M1A1s and M1A2s has a real defined border around the various surface protrusions like the headlights, hatches, latches and such.

I really like it soo far. What kit are you using? The Tamiya one?
hehe - I think the slip stuff could use a bit of sanding..... but I also think it looks great as is - so you can do what ya want :-)
Very nice build, what paint scheme are you planning?
Later-
Jeff

It may look heavy now,but if you put a coat of paint over it it will fill in the low areas between the grains.

Looks good so far Dave.
I agree with Yellow_Snow that the anti-skid coating could be sanded a bit.
Take it easy,
Andrew

I agree with Major Rob, Dave. That non-slid surface looks just fine considering the photos on the real one. I will start on my M1A1 soon. I can't find any Mr. Surfacer in the LHS so I have to order mine on line.

Good to see you build something with treads on it ! You need to come down 1 more square on the fenders with the non-slip . There are a few other things I see that aren't your fault - Tamiya just needs to up-date the hull a bit , about 6 things that I have found so far . I dont want to go on a rampage ( I'll save that for chat ) . I'll post my hull work when I'm happy with it . The grit of the non-slip looks good , and hope you like the lenses on the tail lights and headlights .
