Gents,
Been searching, no luck, time is of the essence here. I'm building the TAKOM Mk V for a filmmaker in Burbank who wants to do a stop motion animation tank battle.
He wants it in British khaki brown, I need recommendations. I have lots of Gunze and Tamiya, and can easily get Vallejo Air at the LHS.
He needs it ( and a FT-17) why did I take this job???) by 1st week in April.
Sorry if this is something easily found, I just couldn't find the answer.
Thanks in advance for any help!

I used Testors Model Master "Field Drab" for my Mk.IV (FS30118)
Tamiya "Field Drab" (XF-51) is a little darker, I used it for a wash and for shading. Hope this helps. Al

If time is pressing, I think Tamiya does a "Khaki" paint that would serve as a base. Once you add a bit of pre-shading, post-shading, and weathering, the exact tone is not so important. (Most of these tanks were essentially "mud" colour by the time they reached enemy lines!)

Thanks Tom, and I think Tamiya might be tougher than Vallejo or Mig? The guy says he wants definite brown shade on the tank.
One of the problems is that stop-motion animation is gonna require him to pick up and handle the model hundreds of times, I can see paint wearing off the high spots very quickly.
It's for that same reason that I am leaving off as much of the photoetch as I can, there's no way that's gonna stay on with constant handling.
I'm thinking paint, gloss cote for washes, then lots of Dullcote over that.
I have no idea how tough Vallejo or Mig is, I've used Vallejo but those models went directly to the shelf and haven't moved since ;-)

Also Ammo of Mig have some IWW set

I second this post. I have used Mig Ammo paints on several tanks. Once you apply the appropriate filter it really represents the colors used on Mark Tanks in WWI(In my humble opinion). Also, using their Mig Ammo USA website gets very quick shipping in North America.

I honestly do not know 'what these colors can be strong, generally acrylic like Mig, Vallejo or AK are not as strong as Laquer and Enamel, a rule is let them dry very well, however personally seen that your model will be really handled a lot I would give it one or two final coat of Matt Varnish to seal and protect all, I find it perfect and easy to use the "AK-183 Ultra Matte Varnish" death flat finish and strait from the bottle with brush or AB
