Hi there, here's a new pic of my Sherman M4A1, work in progress!! I tried to improve all the topics you gents pointed out to me, however, the "new"Academy tracks still need some work.
What do you think of her so far? B.t.w. I added an antenna as well.

Greetz, John.

i can see it fine mate,

looks good, maybe if you put a few drops of glue on the tops of the return roller skid things you could get the tracks to snug down more?

cheers

Looks good John!!
One thing tho the return rollers are steel not rubber.
Did not know if you know this.
I thought I saw them painted in a rubber color, but could be my old eyes playing tricks on me!

Hi sgtreef, You're absolutely right about the return-rollers, but I've seen several original pictures on which they were painted black.
That's the reason why.

Hi Dragonwagon...

This is an awsome build.. makes me want to go out and get an Italeri M4a1...

I would say except for the tracks seeming springy (which was already mentioned and can probalby be easily fixed).. .this is a top notch job!!! love your fading.. scratches... color... excellent!

Are you planning to put this in your recent dio with the first Sherman? Well, I found out that the weathering now fits the terrain and the black parts on the barrel really shows that thing is being used. I don't find any problems with the tracks except that I found it too reddish-brown for my taste. Well that's just me. BTW, how did you make scratches on the white decals?

That is a really good paint job there Dragon, The weathering is nice and subtle. The canvas covering the boxes on the engine deck is really effective. One thing I noticed is the seams on the roadwheels, I'm not in the least bit knowledgeable on armour but wouldn't the surface be worn flat?

Nice looking 76mm Sherman there. I like your paint finish and the subtle weathering. Decals seem a tad bright, but look good still, just as they are. Quick question: what gun barrel di you use in this kit ?

Send us more pics when finished !

Greetz !

Hi Alpenflage, It's the kits original barrel, with a muzzle break from an old Stug IV glued on!
I don't know if it is historical correct, but hey...I just liked the look of it!!! #:-)
