Hello everyone! Today i would like to ask, wich of the Merkava Mk IV is better Academy 13227 or Hobby Boss 82429? I saw the pictures of this tank in internet, and i'm crazy about it. Please share your feedback, i'll be very greatfull. Cheers.

Academy is more accurate. The Hobbyboss kit looks nice, but the lower hull is all wrong. The roadwheel arms are supposed to be staggered, but they are symmetrical on the kit. The Academy IV needs non-slip added, but the Academy IV LIC and Hobbyboss kits have it molded on.

Thank you Jason. I have another question. Droid ATMD can be added to Mk IV LIC?

Just clear coated the Academy IV LIC last night. It is a very nice kit. My only gripe is the ball and chain armor which is fiddly and a bit difficult to deal with, although nothing an experienced modeler cannot deal with.

You are backwards here; the tank has non-torsion bar suspension and are supposed to be symmetrical. Hobby Boss has staggered their road wheel arms like an Abrams or M60 series tank when they should be even with one another.

Academy got it correct.

Thanks for your replay people. I have one more question. Is there any difference between Merkava's Mk3 and Mk4 suspension? I'm going to build Academy Merkava Mk4 LIC, but I don't like it's suspension out of the box, and I found something like this:

I know it is for Meng's Merkava Mk3 BAZ, but maybe it will be good idea, to use it to Academy's Merkava Mk 4 LIC? What do you think?
