Can anyone point out the differences between the T-90s that Trumpeter is releasing, and the T-90ms Tagil by Tiger Models?

Trumpeter kit 05549 (released in 2016) "T-90S Modernized" is the equivalent to Tiger Model kit 4612 (released in 2016) "T-90MS 2011-2012"
This new Trumpeter kit 09524 does not yet have an "equivalent" Tiger Model kit.
The visible differences I recall from the earlier posts, the turret ERA blocks are different between the earlier versions and the later version of the T-90MS. Someone mentioned on the newer tanks, the commander's hatch opens to the back rather than follow the traditional Russian style of opening to towards the front. Headlight style is also different.
I will certainly buy this kit when it becomes available along with the Trumpeter T-84.

Bummer no metal barrel
Why?
None of Trumpeter T-72 and T-90 kits come with metal barrels...
Nor the T-64 series

Another evil-looking Soviet beast, but seriously! Over 1600 parts? WHERE? Talk about fiddly. Most of these modern tanks don't seem to involve a whole lot of parts, especially considering the advances in slide-mold technology so I'm going to have to look-see when I come across one.

Tat, I remember Trumpeter had used "Tagil 2013 version" in their earlier promotion.

It's in the tracks. It seems that more and more tank models want you to add multiple parts to each track link nowadays. It only adds money to the metal tank track aftermarket guys pockets

I personally am really happy about the new tracks Trumpeter is packing in their newer models! Yes.. they may be a bit tedious to build but they are workable and with seperate endcaps like the real thing so there is no need to swap them anymore! (At least for me)
cheers Chris

In the earlier version of the T-90MS from Trumpeter, it is only track link plus guide horn to build the set track but in the corresponding Tiger Model version, it is track link plus guide horn plus two end connectors to connect the tracks. Both companies give you a track assembly jig.

Thanks Tony. Yes, I saw that when I was preparing the news, and announcements from other sites as well. Curious as to why the change. Anyways I just settled to use what they name it now. Cheers, Tat

Agree with this. I just built a Hobby Boss VK 1602 Leopard -- a very basic kit, no interior, not even on-board tools. Its no bigger than a Pz II, but having to put together 400 parts just for the tracks, sure kept me busy for a while longer.

Sounds like tedious fun. So a modern tank kit could have, say 400 pieces legitimately and all the rest is in the tracks? Nuts. Still, probably better as a finished product compared to the alternatives.
