Anyone started their Takom M47 yet?

I've been designing a full interior for my Italeri kit, to be 3D printed at Shapeways, and while I don't have the Takom kits it looks like the parts should be easy enough to cross over. However, the sprue shots on 1999.co.jp suggest there's not only no gun breach in the new kits, but also no trunions or indeed anything else behind the mantlet - is this so? If true, I might be tempted to CAD a breach for the new kits - if I can get good pics of what Takom provided.

They're in the US now. There's a guy on Amazon in Missouri who's got them.

Who cares? Well, apparently Tom Cromwell cares, inasmuch as he has asked. His ownership of a kit - in the USA - also addressed a couple of other posts wondering out loud if the kits were even available.
And now that you mention it, yeah, he is banned from Armorama, or at least he doesn't post because it seems the emnity is mutual. So, here's a link to his initial impressions. I'm sure he appreciates the shout out.

All of this is important to me because I was planing on picking one up from Lots Of Models,they have had them in for over a month next month.

With 4 Testors M-47's already on the bench, I'll still get the Takom M-47 kits worked in there somehow. They look to be generally a nice kit to dive into.
While I do enjoy the new look M-47 by Takom, I consider the sink marks on the fender undersides and on the tracks, the questionable dimensions of the turret compared to the Testors M-47, as well as the questionable foundry/cast markings on the turret and lower glacis plate, and the two piece barrel, to be somewhat disappointing, its seems to me that there are way too many anomalies for such a brand new kit.
In time, the aftermarket, IMHO, should be able to take care of these few anomalies, eventually rendering both Takom's M-47 releases into real fine displays!

I don't know about the M47's barrel which was the M36 90mm. But there is a metal barrel for the M48 which was the M41 90mm. They look very similar.

If memory serves me right, and if you wish to make the conversion, there is a 105mm gun that comes in turned aluminum. I'd have to go thru my stash to see who makes it, but I specifically bought it for the M-47. Now knowing the Takom kits have no turned barrel, it will come in handy if/when I decide to use it!
As far as the 90mm...I don't know of one, nor have I ever seen one produced...but give it time...if there is money to be made on Takom's M-47, those aftermarket guys surely will put it out there...same with PE.

"Toadman" is the guy with an extensive collection of walk around photos to include the M47...you can either buy a CD, or download an E-File.

The instruction set from both kits. No detail at all in the interior
I've go a pair of the E/M kits to buils a pair of Spanish E1/E2.
Take care as the chassis in thes kit is for the M version, the E's vere built on petrol engine tanks and the last wheel station must be a pair of mm behind their position in the kit, maintaining a regular separation from the previous wheels.

Just got mine was hoping that it had a 105MM Rheinmetall Barrel I though I saw one in the pictures before I ordered mine. Since a lot of people seem to think the picture of the one in Israel wiith the L7 105mm is an E2 but it is not.

Hi John, the driver compartment is on Shapeways already. I'm still working on the turret set, but hopefully it'll get finished soon.
I have a bunch of M48s to build, so will be doing interior sets for them too when I get the time. (I've even just uploaded a driver set for the T29/T30/T34, but haven't yet had my test-print of it. Most of the parts were "evolved" from the M26, and then evolved again to the M47, so it was a quick job...)

That's great Tom, I will be purchasing those as they become available, and a few of the M48 sets if/when you get them done.
