Hello
I'd just get the Trumpeter T-84 but didn't find good pics with google so could some of you give me a link to a walk around about the Ukrainian beast?
Thanks in advance
Stephane

Hi Stephane, I posted this over on ML for you, but I thought I would share it here also. Go to "Sturgeon's House" on the net, then go to "Mechanized Warfare" and finally the thread "Ukrainian armor - Oplot-M, T-64M Bulat and other" they have quite a few large, high quality photos of the Oplot, though most of them are of the Royal Thai Army Oplots. look through the whole 33 pages, it will be worth the trouble. look through the other threads also, the threads "Syrian tanks at war. Some pictures and words between them" and "The Soviet Tank Thread: Transversely Mounted 1000hp Engines" are also worth literally, hours of viewing.
Sorry that I haven't learned how to post a link yet, I'll have to have one of my nephews come and show me how.

Just Google "Ukrainian T-84 Oplot" (or ...Oplot-M). There are probably a few hundred photos, including field photos, trials, parked and clean, construction items, plus diagrams and art-work. Several different paint schemes show up.
I'm going to get that Trumpy T-84, and I know where I'll start fishing for some leaders and great info pics!
Cheers, Bob

Please note that the T-84 Oplot created by the Ukrainians has undergone some revisions... The Oplot-M (modernized) versions sold to the Royal Thai Army, for example, have several visible changes in ERA design and configuration, sighting and range-finding equipment, etc. from the original T-84, and thus may be difficult to build from the Trumpy T-84 Oplot kit 09511 without some major work... But now Trumpy is of course following up the first Oplot with... An Oplot-M kit! Which kit (09512) will, I would expect, give one the goods to build a RTA version, etc. Interestingly, this coming Trumpeter Oplot-M kit appears to be equipped with some version of the "Shtora - like" laser - dazzler ATM-defense system related to that of the T-90... (And this turret-mounted accessory does appear in some of those Oplot photos...!)
And when one Google's the T-84 Oplot... You will get a lot of pictures showing various versions between the original and the revised Oplot-M variations. Like all other tanks, one has to at the end of the day pick a point that you want to model to - and one has to know which photos belong to what version and time-frame!
Now that I just found out that the Trumpeter Oplot-M kit is coming out in 2017... I guess that will be the one I'll fall down on!
