I bought the Tamiya kit with the idea of a WW2 scenario, but thought maybe I'd prefer to do something prior to WW2. now I've done research. But I've found little information on pre-WW2 Soviet Armor. Camouflage, green or what?

Some examples of pre-war BT-7 camo schemes :

1938-39 :

Winter 1939 :

Don't know if they're accurate or not...

Here's a BT-5 TU Model 1933 (command version) at Khalkin Gol in August 39 :

I guess you could go with overall green :

The tricolor camo was in Manchuria, the winter white wash was Finland. But most common was plain 4BO green.
There was a great book from Arms and Armor press covering Soviet armor camo in the 1930s but it's probably out of print.

The mentioned camo book does not show Khalkhin Gol combatants. 4BO was common, tricolor in use, but not as widespread as simply green. However if you want to go with soviet tricolor camo of that time I recommended to use the sets provided by AK Interactive or Ammo of Mig. Both sets come with the 3 needed colors as well as some short instructions and examples.

Thanks everyone. I decided that green is boring, but unimportant for the purpose. Japanese tanks are camouflaged anyway.
