And each company still had an M114. Now that was an underpowered piece of junk. It never left the motor pool.

Could still be there as a gate guard monument.

Fort Dix had about half dozen M114 with mocked up superstructures to be moving range targets.

Gamma Goats are supposedly popular with military vehicle collectors because of the strange look and that they can fuss over them all the time to keep them from breaking down.

I was also there in 71-72, with engineers. Never saw one of these. We spent most of our time rebuilding bases to turn over to ARVNs, who then stripped everything out and sold it. Wayne

I was thinking there was a photo of one near the Hi Van Pass (sp), but as I said before; I never saw one.

I did see two or three M114's down south, being used by ARVN. Still hard to believe that we've never seen an M54 truck in plastic. One of the most common truck frames used in country! Yet a ten ton wrecker and an injection molded dump truck are also long over due.

Yeah, I drove a 5 ton dump for a while. We had mostly 5 tons, both dump and tractors and 10 ton tractors. Plus a few 3/4s and duece and a halfs. Wayne
