Today another variant ZIL-131 as a towing vehicle for the cannon D-30. To see a lot during the Cold War. The kit of the ZIL-131 again from ICM and the D-30 from the company Trumpeter.

Wow! You must have bought a case of those kits, huh?
They look fabulous -- some amazing scratch-building skills there, Joch. I am envious.

I have several ICM ZIL kits. Glad to hear they go together well. I hope they do for me, too!

Here another vehicle ZIL-131 of the Soviet Army from times of the cold war. It is a model of the commandant service to accompany the vehicle crews. These vehicles were very often seen when moving longer columns. They belonged to the street scene of the time. The soldiers were often at intersections for several days before being picked up again.

LKWMAN,
Please feel invited to join "Scratch Builders Campaign"-it started 20 days ago and will last for another 10 months, so there is plenty of time.
And with the versatility of ZIL-131's truck there are also plenty of conversion opportunities-I am currently converting an ICM ZIL-131 to carry ZU-23-2 as still used in Bulgarian Army.

Here is a build, based on ICM's ZIL-131, I'm currently working on:

ZIL-131 with ZU-23-2 from 61-st "Stryamska" Mechanized Brigade/Karlovo,Bulgaria:

My progress so far:

I am using Meng's ZU-23-2 kit for the light AA gun.

I assume with all these fantastic builds, you don't have a job, do you (asked as a slight-of-hand compliment)?

Angel,
You need to take a look and the area where the hood/bonnet meets the grille:

Maybe you have already seen it

hello John

Since you think completely wrong, I run a truck workshop every day. Model making is one of my hobbies. My other are original Russian vehicles and tanks.
To your problem Robin, look at the original photos, how the bonnet sits there, before you criticize. For this we set the photos of original vehicles so you can see what it was like in the original. If you need more photos of the original, I can show you more photos, currently have a ZIL-131 in the workshop. The model maker has done a good job.

Best regards LKW MAN

Hi Joachim,
It's not about how the bonnet/hood sits, that looks just fine.
My comment was about the edge which, in the photo, looks as if there is some irregular putty (Spachtelmasse) on it. Doesn't look like the edge of a steel hood/bonnet
If that edge was full of rust and rust coloured I would accept it as a rough and rusted surface.
