Hi Guys,
What are the main type of tanks found in the Ukrainian depots & which kits Willis be the best to get for making such a scene?
Cheers Mike

From the photos I find online, it is pretty much a mix of T-64's, T-72's and T-80's. In other photos, there also appears to be T-55AM's, and T-55 based recovery vehicles, but I would say that there would T-62's in there as well.
There is a book called Scrapyard Armour from AFV Modeller, there are some great detail reference photos in that book.
As for the kits, it depends on what scale you are building in. I can only suggest kits in 1/35 scale. I would that any of Trumpeter's T-62's, T-64's, T-72's and T-80's would do, also any Takom's T-55's should suitable. In say that pretty much any
post war Soviet AFV kit made by any half decent kit manufacturer would be suitable for this kind of build.

Hi Michael,
You are correct that AFV book is great & I do have it already, I guess my question was worded wrong, I meant what would be the best kits to replicate them.
I know Trumpter do the T64 series & both them & Meng have & are doing the T72 in different variants, so was more wondering which kit is the better one, specially as trumpter also do a few.
Cheers Mike

As I posted elsewhere:
The Kharkov plant produced T-64's until they were forced to add T-80U production (they produced a fairly small number of T-80U) and then changed to T-80UD production. I am unsure if they had T-64 and T-80U/UD production side-by-side, but I doubt it. Most likely they were refitting T-64's and building new T-80UD.
Ukraine is going to be littered mainly with T-64's in the depots, with a smaller number of all other tank types (I have observed at least some of T-55, T-62, T-72, T-80B, and T-80U/UD). Accurate numbers of what Ukraine has/had is hard to come by.
