Very cool helicopter and release. Why is this posted in the Dioramas Forum though? It was already posted in the Rotary Wing Forum on Aeroscale (where it should be) a couple weeks ago.

But now we need pilot and ground crew figures, etc. in 1/35 scale!

Definitely! This is a must must have for me, and the two seater once released.

Hello Gino,
I guess I am not the only one who does not check aeroscale news, as my interest is focused on armour modelling. However, being at 1/35 (and not 1/32) and as MiniArt sent the information directly to Armorama news, I thought others would be interested.
It is not an armour kit, nor a figure so the only place I could put it was at dioramas. Open to suggestions though

It may not be armour, but it will certainly appeal to 1/35 armour modellers so it would make sense to have it on Armorama, as many of us don't look at wingything websites. It would be easy to include it in an "armour" diorama and I am sure a few out there will want to make this into a Road Warrioresque post-apocalypse scenario...maybe mix it with the Masterbox zombie/apocalypse series...

"Fling wings/lawn darts", have been embedded in the 1/35 community for quite some time (as with with railroading, construction equipment, rocketry, etc.). Its always nice to see crossovers of other subject matter depicted in 1/35 scale, and featured on Armorama!

The Aeroscale Rotary Wing Forum is where helicopter items should go, that is what it is for. Aeroscale is not just a wingy-thingy site, but the air side of Armorama. Most of the posts in the Rotary Wing Forum are 1/35 (not 1/32). 1/35 is the common large scale for helicopters since they are mainly used to support ground armies and to go with armor models. It is great that more people see it here as well, but we have certain forums for a reason.

I'm excited by this and also think that it makes sense to post it in the diorama section, although I suppose soft-skin would work too? I hope this sells like crazy so maybe we can also get a Sikorsky R-4 or FA 223.

I'm all for 1/35th "army liason" types (i.e. helicopters and pre-rotary wing liason types) and believe the place they belong is here in Armorama - if they're 1/35th, they're basically being marketed as diorama pieces, after all.
I welcome the Kolibri, but I'd also like to see more stuff from pre-heilcopter days too. Yes, Hobbyboss has put out Tristar's nice Storch but, as with the original release, nobody's put out anything in the aftermarket to help spruce up the engine or cockpit, leaving that big glazed area rather empty. Same goes for Bronco's military Piper Cubs - nice enough kits, but they could really do with somebody like Eduard (who seem to specialize almost exclusively in aviation subjects these days) putting out a PE fret or two to enhance them.
While I'd like to see other WWII helicopters as others have mentioned, it'd also be nice to see something like a Po-2 in 1/35th, plenty of diorama opportunities there, or a 1/35th Lysander.
Getting back to the Kolibri - wonder if we'll see a boxing with the enclosed cockpit - Miniart seem to be good at getting maximum mileage out of their molds.

Hi Al,
This is quitek possible, looking at the kit numbers, the single seat is 41001, and the two seat is 41003... maybe 002 is the enclosed cockpit, but I know as much as you do. Still, a very welcome release.

I am not a modern helicopter or aircraft fan and if this had been in an aircraft forum I would never have seen it. I will get this one though.

Maybe you guys should step out of the box a bit and check out the Aeroscale Rotary Wing Forum. There are lots of great helicopters and related items for them there.

Hi, Kylie,
Where did you find 41002 and 41003?

Hello Paul,
That would be from MiniArt itself, as seen here...
http://miniart-models.com/scale-modelworld-2017/
And,
https://www.perthmilitarymodelling.com/newkitnews/miniart.html
Scroll down to see the second iteration.
Merry Christmas

Just to add to the fun of categorising this welcome kit, a quick Google search reveals the Flettner/Kolibri 282 was a creature of the Kriegsmarine in the late 1930s and used almost exclusively during WW2 as a rare naval reconnaissance aircraft, tethered on top of gun turrets...so maybe it belongs in a Shipping forum

I like what I see and this would make a really cool addition to a Mediterranean dio. A 1/35th scale U-boat conning tower would be an interesting possibility as well.

I've seen this kit at IPMS modelworld 2017 show at Telford UK and it is really good. I will definitely be buying one, as it is a welcome change from tanks, and a completely unexpected subject.
