Tank (second) Life - yes; civilian use - not quiet. The Project 1248 'Moskit' class (NATO code - 'Vosh' class) river patrol boats are the floating reincarnation of the T-55.

A bit off at a tangent as it's still military.
A Centurion converted by the Swiss for placing its own turret on newly-built underground bunkers. Son of Heuschrecke

I guess this application is/was used to deliver Centurion turrets to bunker locations that otherwise would be difficult to approach by regular trucks and cranes. The building process: http://www.fwk.ch/fotos/varia/centurion-bunkerbau/

Quoted Text85 FV432 funeral hearse
For ex-army servicemen funerals?
Anyone can hire it apparently, but the guy who built it finished it in time for the funeral of his tank driving instructor. Costs £1500 plus cost of delivering to the venue.
The WW1 tank photos are just awesome...

Seems to be quite a complex towing arrangement on some of the FT17s. Looks like a sprung device attached to the track frames leading to a tow bar at the back. I suppose that for a heavy barge, even with limited friction, a tow pintle at the back wasn't going to cut it. A barge like that could easily be 100t+ when laden.
The FT17 could only go at a fast walk. I wonder which was more trouble overall? Tank or horses.
I'll say one thing for the Russians. They sure know how how to do massive fire appliances.
