Meng is going to release the T90 MS 2015 model. How is that different than their previous T90 MS model? Is this one still an export model or are the Russians plan on using this one?

Do you mean Tiger Model #4612 (2011-2013) and #4610 (2013-2015) T-90MS kits?

Hi Greg
I think Tiger Models is mirroring what Trumpeter has done. Releasing two versions of the T-90S Modernised. Trumpeter first released kit# 05549 and then later Trumpeter released kit # 09524 (model 2013).
Tiger Models kit #4612 (model 2011-2012) is the same as Trumpeter's kit# 05549. Trumpeter's instructions do not indicate which "year" their kit represents.
I have all three kits mentioned above (and I plan to buy the new Tiger Models T-90MS kit# 4610).
Based on the Trumpeter kits, the differences between the two machines I can spot are:
The pattern of the glacis ERA (near the driver's hatch) is different.
The tank commander's hatch opens forward (like traditional Russian tank designs) on kit#05549 while the commanders hatch opens backwards (like Western designs) on kit#09524.
The turret side ERA pattern is different. Trumpeter Kit 09524 turret ERA has many "segments" whereas Trumpeter #05549 turret side ERA is almost a single "slab".
The auxiliary power generator on the back left side are slightly different in details between the two models.
The exhausts have minor differences.
The wire basket at the back of the turret is shaped a bit differently as well between the two kits, which also affects the dimensions of the turret bustle slat armor. The slat armour in kit#05549 is a little "smaller".
Furthermore, kit#09524 has an additional antenna on the right rear part of the turret. Another detail in kit#09524 not appearing in #05549 is an additional "sighting device" (part M19 and M4) that is mounted on the top of the glacis to the left of the driver's view port.
Trumpeter kit # 05549 allows the option to install either the rectangular shaped LED head lights or the round shape head lights. Tiger Models kit #4612 is the same - also gives this option (In the kit instructions, model 2011 has the round shape head lights and the model 2012 has the rectangular LED lights)
Hope this helps you.
Tony
