Hi all,

Sharing with you my work on a Tamiya 1/35 Chieftain. I did this model for the British Brigade Campaign in the forum. Comments and suggestions are highly appreciated. I may do one last dust coat over the entire thing with highly thinned tamiya buff paint.

Hi,
the model is nice enough.
I have two suggestions:
1- check the alignment of wheels and track on the left side, the photo from the front seems to show some asymmetry;
2- the periscopes are too vivid as color, and show that the plastic isn't perfectly flat. I suggest to use a very thin piece of clean plastic from the envelope of any commercial product, paint it with some very dark grey-blue-green shade, cut to size rectangles and glue over the existing periscopes with a small amount of white glue, as a sort of decal. It gives good and easy results.

Hi Massimo! Thank you so much for your comments. Those are somethings I can definitely improve upon the kit and watch out for in future builds. For the periscopes - I tried painting the solid ones a silver color first, and then I mixed tamiya clear blue with gloss. I put too much gloss in the paint when I handbrushed it and it spread unevenly. I'm considering sanding the whole thing and doing your suggestion. Thanks for the comment on the wheel as well - I'll check the alignment with a ruler when I get time at the bench sometime this week.
