I plan to build a model of a Mk. V tank in US markings I know the the 301st was attached to British units
were there any markings that made them uniquely American ,every kit of the Mk.V has British or other markings
any help you can provide will be greatly appreciated

I know one thing that was a unique american identifier was an american flag on a pole near the infnarty call signs on the top of the tank. About half way down this website is a picture of what I am trying to say. https://armyhistory.org/the-dawn-of-american-armor-the-u-s-army-tank-corps-in-world-war-i// I will do some more research if you need more information.

That item identified as an "Infantry call sign" is actually a semaphore system used for signaling between tanks-- before the advent of radio equipment. The US Army adopted this system from the US Railroad system which used a similar system for signalling locomotive engineers. Just thought I'd share this tidbit of early tank trivia!
