The idea to this scene is a tank getting ready to go down range .This is the Tamiya M1A2 kit , so I went with the earlier version . A M1A1 AIM is a tank that has been through re-build . It is pretty much done still need to add the EPLARS mast , the tow cables , bumper # s and some crew stowage . This will probaly be one of the last M1s I build for a while . This is a good kit , but I know more about M1s than I ever wanted to know . I went with the crew gear option on the name game S W K on one duffle bag for my best bud WWH and RTM for the leader of this build Bro. Abrams .
This is the pic that I'm basing this tank on . I took this pic during Tank Table 7 last year .
left side view
Head on view of the TC s position and the GPS . I used film negatives for the vision blocks
The crew gear - might add two more names to this one - just dont know yet .
Side view - might try a name on the gun tube- gonna be fun masking that off
The tribute to WWH .
The wire I added in place of the crew step
Over view of the turret . If you look real close the . 50 cal rounds stop short of the MG ,this tank is in a " cold " status . The green flag means all weapons systems are clear and elevated , if a tank is showing a red flag it is in a " hot " status and ready to engage the range .

Toadster:
Wow, another M1 masterpiece from the dude that "rides the real deal"!!!!
Thanks for the name on the crew gear, -- a real tribute from a generous Abram's expert---Toad is always willing to share knowledge, still pics, and movie snippets to help other modelers out--the guy is a tremendous resource!
A couple of additonal items worth noting here, i.e. the use of film for the vision blocks, the wire for the step (I should have left some of the wire covering on the edge like you did Toad), the info on the red flag/green flag scenario, the APU conduit piece, and the wire for the front fenders---all items that add to the quality of the build, and the knowledge of the subject for the rest of us. Thanks pal, and congrats on this build for the Campaign.

Thanks guys - really appericate the comments . I have went a little bit nuts on this tank just trying to get it right
SgtReef: This is a National guard tank from A Troop 98th Cavalry . If I understood the campaign rules it is open to any M1 . I dont remeber any 3 tone M1s in the 1st gulf war
WWH : Thanks Man ! Glad to know some one reads all this junk that I type #:-)
SS-74 : There are a few more spots for names on this one - Will up-date
Cardnal : You still have 2 months till the dead line and I'm shure that Bro. Abe will give you an extension .
Thanks again Toad out

Very nice work here. I esp like the crew stowage :-) Overall weathering looks good too. Your figures faces and hands look a lil pale, but that can be fixed with a simple red-brown wash. That will work wonders. I like the inclusion of the photo of the actual vehicle too.
Admirable M1A1 !!
Cheers !!
