Air assault craft seems to be gliding up as a new theme with manufacturers. Not my cup of tea but the more the merrier. I have picked up the spin-offs in shape of light tanks for airborne assault.
Now I am beginning to hope for a 1/35th model of the Antonov A-40 KT winged tank
I would NOT want to be the driver of this tank:
Gives the expression "sudden stop" a whole new meaning.
Maybe if they had attached a suitably boat shaped detachable pontoon at the front to give it at least a minimum of hydrodynamic shape ....

I was thinking Eben Emael as well, or possibly Mussolini's rescue...these look really exciting though more detail on the figurines would have been nice.

It'd be pretty scary if the figures look like the box art. Like 1970's Bandai scary.

From the article:
Using this device, the aircraft can get rid of the enemy by dragging rope untied steep angle subduction of the enemy attack tactics in the face.
WHat?????
And do you think any manufacturer will ever come out with a Colditz glider?

@Taeuss what more info do you need on the figurines? its dragons set 6094 called „Gran sasso raid“ with otto skorzeny. i think its from the mid 90s. still great but i would have liked to see some new figures/poses since many of us already have a set or more of these in the stash.

Gibberish produced by some automated translation service.
I found this on Wikipedia:
" It was an assault glider, designed to land directly on top of its target, so it was equipped with a parachute brake. This allowed the glider to approach its target in a dive at an angle of eighty degrees and land within 20 metres (60 ft) of its target. It could carry up to 1,200 kg (2,600 lb) of cargo."
The news text talks about deceleration using umbrella ...
A steep dive angle could reduce the time to get down to the target and the time when the glider is exposed to enemy fire.

Lots of information in German with images:
http://www.germanluftwaffe.com/archiv/Dokumente/ABC/s/Schleppkupplungen/Kampf%20und%20Lastensegler%20DFS%20230%20DFS%20331/Lastenseagler%20DFS%20230.html#XI
The maximum dive angle with half open brake parachute down to some safety altitude, as per the instructions, was 60 degrees, maximum approach angle below the safety altitude was 30 degrees and the brake parachute should be opened to its full size at 1-2 meters altitude.

I think that you meant "scar" as I got the impression that not much "scared" Otto, and Max: thanks for the update on the Dragon-90s figure set connection; I didn't know and that's a good think to know. Almost incestuous how those molds get around popping up when you least expect them from donors you hadn't expected.
