Is this out? I don't think it is. Is there a release date anyone knows about?

Saw it at one of the vendor tables at a show last Saturday in Virginia. Don't know who might have it though.

Oops. I searched correctly, but Scalemates directed me to that page.

I don't believe it is out yet. It is not on eBay and Asian suppliers still have it listed as a pre-order item.
You probably saw Panda's M1 kit, which has been out for a while. The boxart looks similar.
M1 boxart.
M1IP boxart.

Well I love these early Abrams, so I'll probably get a kid...
As an aside, I have the stock M1 in my stash. I understand there were barrel issues. Has anyone popped out a replacement barrel yet?
Damon.

The barrel is too short by about 2mm forward of the bore evacuator. Right now there is no AM replacement barrel for it, but you can take the Def Model late M68 barrel (35015) for an M60A3 and cut it off behind the bore evac and swap those sections. You will also have to add the muzzle reference sensor on the new barrel.
More info on other issues with the Panda M1 kit (35030) can be found here.

M1 yes, but not very IP by the looks of some details...
Outside of the rear fender cut-out none of the distinctive features of the M1IP are actually visible in the box art.
And some slick M1s had the cut out and some M1IP had the sprocket retaining ring so those are not positive identifiers. The gun barrel is at such an angle in the painting that it is difficult to discern if the turret extension is there or not. Probably, but one could argue perspective.

The M1IP kit comes with an entire new turret that has the correct length. You can see a full build review at Moxing.net It still carries over all the issues in the M1 kit listed above, and they seem to have incorrectly changed the shape of the turret blow-off panels as well.

Well, it has a typical IP gooseneck bracket fitted to a wrong mantlet for an IP.

There is something I should point out as a former M1 tanker. You can put the gas cap on rotated 90 degrees. How do I know this? I spent 20 minutes prying it off at Fort Dix one weekend wondering how the guy had put it on backwards. It can be done.
I'm glad the kit comes with both turrets because I'll be be able to do the re-manufactured M1 that I crewed. They were slick M1 that were refurbished at Anniston and updated with various bits like the bustle rack and TC's machine gun trigger.
But what do I know? I was only a gunner, TC and gunnery evaluator/instructor. Anybody know the quick and easy trick to check the boresight on an M1?
And still no lifting rings on the TC cupola.

It looks like Panda made the same mistake Tamiya made on their original M1A1 - make the turret longer (right), then move the gun mount forward and keep the M1-style short mantlet (wrong). That'll take some surgery to fix. Looks like Panda worked off the inaccurate drawings without checking photos.

Don't forget that at Knox, there were XM1s upgraded to M1IP, M1s upgraded to M1IP and tanks manufactured as M1IPs, each with a few differences depending on what it began life as.
Somewhere, in an old Tamiya M1 box, I have a yellow ledger page of notes I took comparing that kit to the former XM1 s/n 007 M1IP I trained on at Knox in 1987.
