Hey guys! Can I install an aftermarket 105mm on the Takom Tiran-4 and still have an accurate build?
Just curious, what are the upgrades between the '-3' and the '-4'?
Did the Israelis ever install the 105mm on the Tiran-4?
Thanks!

It is kind of well sourced so give it a go.
The Tiran 4 is are T-54 modified, the Tiran 5 is T-55 modified.
The Tiran 4Sh and Tiran 5Sh are futher upgrade, notably the 105mm instead of 100mm, and there are also various exterior detail differences.
Edit: After some simple verification with Google. Yes, you can do it. Takom kit is the upgraded variant.

The Tiran 3 never existed. Wikipedia - wrongly - states that unmodified T-54s and T-55s in IDF service were called Tiran 1 and 2 respectively, but in fact the major Tiran variants were the Tiran 4/5 (T-54/55) together with their sub-variants and the Tiran 6 (T-62).

I was under the impression that the Tiran 4 retained the 100mm gun and the Tiran 5 had the 105mm gun

Both have been upgunned with IMI's 'Sharir' gun (licensed 105mm M68). These variants were called Tiran 4/5 Sh. Some of them were backdated to their original main-armament configuration (100mm D-10) in the late '70s and handed over to allies in Lebanon. At least one IDF training formation used these backdated tanks for training Lebanese tankers.
