Okay, I finally got this finished. Unfortunately, I got busy at work and had to put it away for a month or so.
It is a DML SU-85M out of the box. I noticed that I need to paint some inner track areas. This was a good kit. I was impressed with the detailing. Any comments are welcome, I want to improve my skills and would like input. Tanks, Steve

Good looking Russian vehicle. You've done a great job on the links. The weathering looks good, the decals are applied well, nice lens work---all around solid build. Well done. For your consideration, perhaps darken the inside of the 85mm tube, and add a bit of steel to the exposed track teeth for wear --- but these are knit picks -----this is a nice model sir!
Congrats.

I think you only need to hollow the barrel.

Great Job! I have one of those and the SU-100 at the top of my stash waiting patiently for me to finish my IS-3M.
How is the fit on the external fuel drums? They seem to be the bane of most Russian armor modellers.

Thanks for the input everyone. I darkened the interior of the barrel.
Once again, thanks, Steve

Very nice Steve! Question... did the front fenders come like that or did you rough them up?

My nitpick; while you are out darkening the inside of the gun tube, add some to the exhaust pipe interiors too.
Nitpick done. Very well done, S203! Give it a nice base and call it done!

Hi Steve,
I can only agree with the former comments; Clean build, nice weathering, and very convincing tracks!
I like the second set of photographs even more, because the outside lighting gives a much more realistic look to your paint-job, specially the worn fenders.
Great job, John.

I will add the exhaust thanks. The fenders and fuel drums came like that. Thanks again, Steve

Nice looking SU-85 you have there. Russian green looks dead-on, esp the photos taken in the natural light. Decals look good too, as most Russian markings were plain. I would drybrush some steel on the tracks were they contact the ground, and dont forget the guide teeth. One last thing, give that engine grille a wash of black, followed by a drybrush of your green (lightened). This will make the kit grille look more like a screen then a solid piece.
Other then that, you have a fine looking SU-85 !!
Cheers !
