Are mecha and walkers next? There's a whole genre with alternate armor in manga and anime. There's also the Web comic Pinky TA that has mecha serving a Republic of Ukraine in an alternate 1920s.

Love it!...the ball tank more than a what if is a paperpanzer many countries have the idea put on paper Russia built some prototypes and one still exists
