I'm working on a Firefly IC I am doing in Canadian 4th Armored Division during Totalize/Tractable in August, 1944. Does anyone know if it would have had the star in circle air recognition marking on the engine deck?

Thanks for any help!

From a couple of references I have seen they did not have the star on the engine deck.

Normally Canadian units had a lot of stowage on the rear deck, so in most cases it would be hard to know.

Thanks Kevin! I'll leave it off, then.

It might be on the turret roof for the very reason that the decks would often be covered. Incidents of 2TAF attacking allied units are not unknown so it was worth taking steps to avoid and of course turret roofs are rarely visible in photographs.
