Wow... I clicked on here expecting one of Adam's entertaining accounts of the latest (old) kit to spark his enthusiasm and find I've waded straight into a Matchbox campaign nostalgia-fest. Well, I do still have a mint Matchbox Diamond T in the stash; I think it's all I have left by MB, it's only been waiting for 40 years. (Actually I might still have all of a part built Matchbox 1/32 Surtees racing car complete with chromed parts and some thick hand painted gloss black enamel...)

Well, welcome to this current Matchbox madness, Matthew. Are you announcing by mentioning what kit you have available that you might be implying an interest in joining a new MNC? If you understand the meaning of that last sentence at least you might?

Well, you were right on with what you thought would happen... I never expected this Mbox love-fest either! I guess it just proves that either my craziness is infectious, or I'm not the only crazy one. (Is one of those better than the other?)
I am astounded by the retro armour loving going on here, and I can tell you (no surprise) that I have a shootload of old MBox and newer Revell repops in the stash.
When you guys are talking about the Diamond T, do you mean the M19 tank transporter? If so, I've got one of those in the stash too. It's the Revell repop, but it is that kit. Looks decent enough.
If there's going to be any Mbox campaigns, let me know and I'll do what I can to dig one out of the stash!

Hi guys.
I have submitted a proposal for the campaign via the campaign pages. Not sure if I put the horse before the cart, as I am not sure if that is how to open a thread for gaining the required number or not. It maybe I need the magic 10 first, in which case I will be suitably embarrassed.
Any way, the proposal was for Feb 2019 - June 2019
Open to any genre any scale, as long as it is a Matchbox Kit, a re-issue of another manufacturers kit under the Matchbox Logo i.e. Renwal, or a re-issue of a Matchbox kit under another Brand - i.e. Revell.
Can be out of the box or modified/enhanced as long as the significant majority is still the original kit.
Replacement decals are okay, given a lot may be kaput by now anyway
Open to part started kits - lets see some love for the shelf queens.
So if you are serious about joining in, can you confirm here so I will not look any more of an idiot than I probably am.

@petbat, Pete,
It's been a while since I've run a campaign but I know that you've got to start an official "Proposal:" thread in the Campaign Forum. I looked today and there is no such thread referring to a Matchbox Campaign. I believe you need to press the New Topic button, give the topic a name such as "Proposal: Matchbox Nostalgia 2018" and then write the first post announcing your proposal for discussion. I might further suggest that you put a link in this thread to the "Official" proposal thread in the Campaign Forum. The Campaign Forum Administrator will communicate with you/us through the proposal threat.
Cheers,

Pete, a valiant attempt but this is the wrong location for the “Proposal”. You’ll need to put it in the “Campaign” Forum located at HERE

I am late but hopefully not totally here with me asking myself: aren't there 27 MB 76th scale armor kits out there? I read about 28 here at several postings and was just wondering because I recall only 27 (including the "doubles", large guys like the bridge layer and the non-WWII Challenger)?

There are exactly 27 "original" Matchbox Armor Kits. Revell later released some 1/72 Kits like Leopard 2 or T-80 unter the Matchbox Label, packaged in black boxes, but these were reboxed. I'm not sure of their origin, they came without figures or diorama bases.
I already built every single of the original kits, some for the previous campaign years ago. You can check matchobxkits.org for further information (as well as pictures of my builds ).
