I have this one, too - It’s been sitting on the shelf of shame for a while, about as far along as yours - maybe your bulid will give me the inspiration I need to continue....good job so far in any case.
I very much agree with Mario‘s recommendation - resin wheels from DEF Models or Miniarm, though expensive, really look a lot better - not only do they have a weighted appearance, they don‘t have that awful gap between the tire and the wheel rim, as is evident in some of your photos, unfortunately.

I am investing exclusively in models humvee, because it is my main subject matter. Remaining model, it caprice without additions.

I usually utilize the hollow tyres of the kits, but I have a method to avoid that they collapse inwards:
I cut a long stripe of cardboard with the exact internal width of the tyre, I wrap it for two or three loops creating a sort of ring slightly wider than the wheel hub, I fix it with tape and insert it inside the tyre.
Then the hub, usually divided in two disks, is mounted with the tyre.
So the sides of the tyre can't collapse inside because the ring of cardboard keeps the inside space.
