Echelon has a new set of decals for the Tiger I, including one with Mickey Mouse. Any idea which kit would be the best starting point for it? http://www.echelonfd.com/firstfrontier/AXT351012.htm

Well, that's a no-brainer. This kit is a perfect fit, if you use the "flat" mantlet rather than the one specified in the instructions.

Tiger I Early Production "Tiki"

No other Tiger kit has the appropriate turret bin as supplied here.

What is the significance of the Z with the line in the middle ??? I noticed the German version has you complete the Z (swastika ??)

Thanks

It's the symbol used by the 2nd Panzer division( Das Reich)

I just received Dragon's TIKI from a German store.

I wasn't aware that they remove the SS Panzer Division symbols from the decal sheet (and cover them in the instructions and boxart). I thought that only swastikas were forbidden in Germany.

Anyway, I'll try to handpaint the Das Reich symbol. If I can't, I can get this sheet. Thanks for sharing.

Wow.. I didn't know that. How much time do you think they spend censoring each kit?

About a month ago Germany lifted its laws on symbols in video games. Guess it hasn't made it to models yet.
