One set of civilian pattern front wheels, one set of "military" type front wheels and one set of military type real wheels.

Yes, the civilian tires on the front handled better on the road. It was a common setup in Vietnam on M54 guntrucks. I don't think I have seen any M54 cargo trucks with the mixed wheels though.
