DML/Alan BA-20 oob. The pics show it more shiny than it is. And a little brighter.
Thanks for looking.

looks good nice different subject I've seen this in the shops any issues with the build?
I'd add some dust to the lower parts as I think these were mostly in use during the early months of the invasion stick a tank or troops marching by it for a nice little dio

This kit needed a lot of patience and a fair amount of putty. Thanks for responding.

Good Job.....
tried that kit several times.....
always hit the circular file, due to so many fit problems.
Nice to see someone actually completed it.
Once again, looks good.

Looks real nice there BC! I have heard that it is a nasty kit.

Howdy m1garand,

Look's like excellent work on a supposedly challenging kit. I've alway's liked Russian equipment (if you don't believe me, just check out my "Love Affairs", i.e., Helo's, Trains, etc.)
Good on ya!

Tread.

I especially like your 'wear & tear'.

Thanks for the comments everybody. It really was a pain of a kit, but I like how it came out. Although I think it'll be quite awhile before I tackle it again.

If you like these little armored car models, you ought to get the TWK-START BA-20M kit. I built this a few years ago and it was a fun, easy build.

Here's that BA-20M. I like your paint job better than mine. How did you get the coppery look around the fenders? Not sure if it's accurate (most pics of these are grainy black and white), but it looks cool!

Thanks. The pics are brighter and shinier than the model itself. It's more of a rust color. Going for a rusted, well-worn, well-used look. I used Lifecolor TENSOCROM Weathering Agents rust. Gives a very good rusty look, with varied colors of rust. For the main paintjob I used MM Russian armor green with an overall wash of Floquill aged concrete thinned with water to a waterlike consistency to try to give it a faded look.. Then used the rust weathering agent in all the places that I thought water would sit or go.
Thanks again for the comments. Bob, I like your build also. I like the subject matter and may have to get one or two of the TWK-START BA-20M kits. It'll be awhile before I'm brave enough to tackle the Alan kit again.

Thanks, BC.

I was looking more for that "hit the streets last week" look.

It has to be the lighting that makes me think the front of your vehicle looks like it has copper edges to the front fenders. I may have to check out that Lifecolor stuff, though.

Can't blame you about the Alan kit aversion. See my SU-76M posted elsewhere on this website: https://armorama.kitmaker.net/forums/27686&page=1

Ouch, I feel your pain! The TWK START kit isn't perfect, but it has parts that are close to scale.

On the other hand, I have the TRULY HIDEOUS Certi kit no. 3501 -- a Czech wz.34 armored car. Even if you fix the kit, th epaint job is pretty horrible, nonetheless!

Your SU-76 really looks good. I especially like the rustiness (is that a word?) of the muffler/exhaust. To me it sets it off perfectly.

I really like the Lifecolor weathering agents. I have both sets and they dry and flow very realistically. Like the fuel, kerosene, and oil. And the rust effect is very convincing. I'll try to get more pics in a better light to show you.

Here's a couple updated pics that show the rusty color a little bit better:
