21 plastic pieces including 2 transparent, and 21 pieces on the mini PE set, plus a piece of rhodoïd on which the instruments are printed.

A double-sided A4 size plan with a history of this midget submarine in Russian and English will help you to build this kit easily.

We learn that this machine is 53.2 cm in diameter (so that it can be dropped by the torpedo tube of a classic submarine), weighs 460 kg, speeds between 2 and 4 knots per hour to a depth of 40 meters. The length with the container (which attaches to the front of the submarine) is 11.3 m, about 30 cm at 1/35.

It carries two crewmen, in a very very spartan comfort! It is better not be prone to cramps or be too big given the 53 cm in diameter ... Not to mention the air bottles in their rectangular container that breaks your back...

I finished painting the dashboard; he went to join his location in the upper half-hull. I then glued the two parts, did some sanding and started to paint with an underlayer of Vallejo 71009 "Duck egg green" then a very diluted layer of "Black forest green" from Scale 75.


Another layer of a slightly darker green will come to finish the work during a next session.

The Sirena takes slowly its final color with a layer of Vallejo 70896 "German camouflage extra dark green". The propeller's and counter-propeller's blades are painted in black.

Some pictures of the actual Sirena submarine, Spetsnaz divers and their special underwater weapons, as well as a picture from a Losos class submarine (transports 2 Sirena and 6 or 8 Spetsnaz):

I am slowly approaching the end, very slowly ... I lacked time to model those last weeks.

The independent container received its first touch of weathering and I fixed its propeller. I fought with the 5 blades of the propeller and the 3 blades of the counter-rotating propeller, as well as for their protective cover. I went too fast but I'm not going to waste any more time with this and I'll try to hide with plastic tape and some paint.

I finished painting the instruments and the dashboard and started to put some light gray spots on some trap doors.

I call it done !

I redid the circling around the propellers with plastic card because I had trouble with the PE parts and the adjustment of the stabilizers.
Weathering made and varnish coat = submarine finished !!!
I had fun with this first incursion into the world of submarines; there will be others.
