I've been thinking about wanting to have a campaign that concerns "Operation Sealion": the German plan to invade Great Britian. My question is: would anyone want to have this kind of campaign? It would, of course, be open to all kinds of models: ships, armor, "wingy thingys", figures, etc. I understand that we are limited to the amount of campaigns per year, but if not a campaign, maybe a group build? So, go or no? Thanks for your time.

Not sure, but wouldn't that fall under the "Mission" catagory. IE its pretty much limited to british and german stuff from early in the war. I would love to do it, but I am pretty much already all filled up with models, and wouldnt be able to do it until fall.

Hey, thanks for the reply. Oh, and I really have no idea what it would be (Mission, Operation, no idea). Also, time-wise: I don't care as long as it can go. Thanks for your time.

Sealion might be tough since only the air campaign really took place.

I think its a good idea...and the focus could be shifted a little to "what-if" Operation Sealion had taken place, so all air, sea and land sections could be accommodated....???
Just a thought.

Oh no, I didn't mean another "Battle of Britain" Campaign....

Are you talking like What-If with a Tiger in the middle of Buckingham Palace? A little more clarity may help

Im pretty sure this is a what iff the Germans went ahead with the operation. I think basically that means anything from either Germany or Britain up to 41ish.

Sure (Sorta). Basically, the Germans have invaded Great Britain, and you can have a 38 (t), a Panzer I or II, maybe even a III if you like. So, here's what would happen: After Dunkirk, the Germans invade Great Britain. What they would use I can find out. ( I remember seeing a prototype pontoon thingy for a Panzer to make it amphibious in a book somewhere.... ) Anyhoo, whoever wins is up to you (Maybe....... :-) ) I'm running out of time here, so I'll have to explain more later. I hope you guys are still interested. Thanks for your time.

Okay, I'm back to explain some more (To the best of my ability). This, like I said, takes place after Dunkirk, after the Battle of Britain is over. The Luftwaffe owns the sky, for the most part. And that's about as far as my memory would take me. Sorry I don't have any more information at this particular moment in time. Thanks for your time.

On July 27, Brauchitsch-recently promoted to Field-Marshal, together with 12 other Army and Luftwaffe generals-submitted a preliminary invasion plan to O.K.W. With 41 divisions, six of them armoured and three motorised, plus the Luftwaffe's 7th Parachute Division and the 22nd Airborne Division, the plan read as follows:
On D-Day (set shortly after August 25) Rundstedt's Army Group "A" would cross the Channel with two armies;
Right flank: 16th Army (Busch), concentrated between Ostend and the Somme, would land between Ramsgate and Hastings; and
Left flank: 9th Army (Strauss), concentrated between the Somme and Orne, would land between Brighton and Littlehampton, with a detachment on the Isle of Wight.
The Gravesend-Reigate-Portsmouth line was designated as the first objective for Rundstedt's army group.
Simultaneously, or after a short delay, depending on circumstances, Bock's Army Group "B" would launch Reichenau's 6th Army from the Cherbourg Peninsula against the Dorset coast. Landing between Weymouth and Lyme Regis it would strike towards Bristol, pushing a detachment across Devon.
At this moment the 9th Army would break the British defences along the North Downs, cross the Thames at the Reading, and encircle London from the west. The second objective for Rundstedt and Bock was to be the line connecting Maldon on the North Sea with Gloucester on the Severn.
....a first wave of 13 divisions...
As there was no German battle fleet to give heavy gunfire support.......it was decided to give the landing troops the benefit of tank fire-power. To do this, 128 Pzkw III and IV tanks were converted to allow them to be landed offshore and descend into the sea-bed, a depth of 25 -30 feet below the surface.
More later...Thanks for your time.
