The Canadian Leopard C1 with MEXAS should be a well received kit. It was only previously available as a resin conversion from Maple Leaf Models.
The correct terminology is a Leopard C1 with MEXAS for the purists. C1A1 was a term created by Canadian modellers.
There were only ever 5 x Leopard C1s with MEXAS deployed to Kosovo between 1999 and 2000. There were a few Leopard C1s that trialed the MEXAS packages in Canada in the late 1990s. The trial Leopards had the MEXAS painted in a three colour NATO scheme which made for very interesting looking tanks.

It's good to see the Tristar figures being re-released.

So a plain green tank with 3 tone modules would be feasible..? I like that idea.

The tanks that deployed to Kosovo were NATO camouflage with CARC green MEXAS modules.
The tanks used for the trials in Canada were NATO camouflage and then the MEXAS modules were painted in the NATO camouflage. There obviously was no specific pattern for the MEXAS camouflage so the basic camouflage pattern on the tank was followed as best as possible on to the MEXAS modules.
There's a few good pics kicking around of the new MEXAS modules mounted on the trail tanks before paint and after paint. The unpainted MEXAS is a yellowish tan colour.
I'll post some pics in the near future.

I wish they would make a Panzer 4 J or Hetzer based off the Tristar moulds.

A Leopard C1 with MEXAS from B Squadron, 4th Troop, Royal Canadian Dragoons in approximately 1995 during the MEXAS crew trials in Canada.
Newly installed MEXAS in the factory colour...
The same tank with the MEXAS painted in the NATO three colour scheme...
It will be interesting to see if Hobby Boss had all of the information to accurately include this paint scheme and correct full markings in their kit.

Ha! So that's why Takom molded those MEXAS parts tan and everything else in green in their C2 kit
