Ok, so sub-set was a poor word choice, I should have said sister site, it is equally as popular and a stand-alone entity.

Yes, your nonsense posts with unnecessary capitalization and rambling usually do "raise my hackles" (whatever they are). I find most of them quite annoying. That is exactly why I usually ignore them, as I will with the rest of this one.

Really, you are going to resort to the response of someone who has no argument?

If you want to find out about the latest airplane model, that is why there is a whole sub-set of Armorama, Aeroscale, that is dedicated to them with all sorts of sub-catagories and lots of useful info. If we are going to post like this, why have sub-categories at all, just post whatever you want wherever you want.

"NEWS For Tread-Heads Who Also Build Wing-Things"..?

Sometimes, Gino, "Tread-Heads" who DO build "Wing-Things" get so wrapped up in their Panthers, Shermans and Tigers, that they don't even stop to "peremptorily" peruse "AEROSCALE" in order to find out what's new, and vice-versa.

If anything, I DID manage to raise YOUR hackles, didn't I? And I also DID get a few people to "talk"...

THAT was my object, in the first place- To raise interest AND CONTROVERSY, and possibly even infuse a lit bit of humor. Darren mentioned that he wanted to raise readers' consciousness and to improve their "response-times and activity" on ARMORAMA, in so many words. I DID get some immediate responses, with YOURS among them...

You'll have to admit, it's been pretty "dry" around here, so why not throw everyone a "curve-ball", if only to get people talking, and yes, arguing one point or another, even if it's only to bring up the question,

WHY are "Wing-Things" being discussed on a "Tread-Head" site..?

Now, you have your answer...

Gino, you know you can use the ‘Hide user’ function? It’s at the top of every post. I only found out about it recently but it can make for a less stressful life if you find a particular individual’s posts irritating.

Why is this discussion even here? We have the Aeroscale Forums for a reason. Are we now going to start announcing every aircraft new release here as well? I really don't see the point of cross-pollinating to the Armor forum. If people are interested in aircraft, they will look there too. If they don't, that is their problem.

I must second this opinion stated above. This belongs on our sister-site, not here.


And on another less related note: - as these P-38 teaser posts were coming up of late I was sort of hoping for a new Lightening in 1/32nd that would at least come close to all my 1/35th scale armor models and my other 1/32nd aircraft. This announcement sort of leaves me cold for multiple reasons.

Actually Dennis might have a point here.

I could post links to Windows updates (for tank modellers who also own a computer), to food news (for modellers who also eat) and to the IRS (for modellers who also pay US taxes - other tax authorities are available). After all, they might not have taken the trouble to sign up for those sites but I’d be doing them a favour by telling them about them, wouldn’t I?

You Sir, are a True Gentleman!

(Not like some others around here...)

I really cannot understand why this post has caused so much drama. We are all one community with our own area of expertise or preference, and as was mentioned earlier, we often put the blinkers on and miss out on developments or news in the other genres. The occasional heads-up when there is something as significant as this new P-38 from Tamiya can do no harm at all.

For myself, I was a dedicated Wingy-Thingy builder for many years, but found myself burned out a bit and turned to Auto builds to renew my energies. In saying that, I still browse through a lot of the Aeroscale, Armorama and Model Shipwrights threads to enjoy the work being done and pick up some tips or techniques from the great talents here.

Shameless plug from me as well, you all need to build a car, so come on over to Automodeler and get your shiny on!

Isn't it enough to just select "Entire Network" and "None" at the top of the home page to then see the complete KitMaker network?

Which is what I have always done from the start.

To touch on a sub-topic that Russ just mentioned above: "topics that didn't catch my eye", I have lobbied elsewhere on this site in favor of recommending thread titles that actually try and reflect the topic to be discussed.

Given the sheer amount of data that flows across this site in a week's time, titles such as "What I found this weekend" do no one any service in affectively sharing modeling information here.

Equally, IMHO, creating duplicate multiple listings of Wingy Thingy announcements under the Treadhead monicker only increases the background noise level making it harder to find the real news hidden in the buzz of all the static.
